introduction
“Working with Compassion,” provides students with the opportunity to explore compassion as an active skill. To illustrate the difference between passive, empathic concern, aspirational compassion, and active compassion, students will engage in a cooperative building activity with simple materials. Students explore how these feeling states relate to and impact one another. The learning experience aims to help students understand the distinctions between these emotional states and evaluate how practicing empathy and compassion can address real-world problems.
